An Aesthetic Approach to Kitsch and Art

Abstract

The aim of this research is analyse the artistic phenomenon by presenting its historical role, emphasisig the value structure it emobodies, questioning the need for artwork and by analising the creative process opposed to the kitsch production. The concepts of judgement and taste are also problematised, as well as poetic differences between art and kitch. All is concluded with their seperate level of contemplatibility. In the end, the etical discussion is opened. The result is accomplisching clear distinction between authentic art value and its deviant form – kitsch.
