Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the late Croatian artist Drago Trumbetaš. This autodidact’s work was marked by his life on the margins of German society where he was a gastarbeiter, a German term used for the ‘temporary’ immigrant workers from southern Europe during 1960ies trough 1980ies. His drawings are read as sharp commentaries on the urban landscape of 20th century German cities.
