Abstract

This paper defines the ideologeme and deals with ideologemic structures in the selected works by Vladan Desnica, Stjepan Čuić and Ivo Brešan. It explains why these Croatian writers turn to fantasy genre and what their position is in relation to the authority. All three authors break the ideological concepts, but they do it in different ways, so it is revealed how the ideologemic structures of their fantastictexts work. An answer is also given to the question as to whether fantasy prose functions as an ideologemic structure at all.
