Abstract

The article treats the influence of the natural geographical basis on the socioeconomic relations in the space, as a part of general problem connected with small Adriatic islands. Zlarin is one of the number. With regard to the characteristics of the natural economic basis, its inhabitants could subsist in autarkical economy and insular isolation but not in the New Age, which imposes different relations in the area and new forms of economic linking especially near a larger urban organism.
