About the Journal

Libellarium: journal for research in the field of information and related sciences is a diamond open access scientific journal that has been published jointly by the Department of Information Sciences and Technologies of the University of Zadar and the Department of Information Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek.

History of the journal

Libellarium was published from 2008 until 2018 under the title Libellarium: Journal for the Research of Writing, Books, and Cultural Heritage Institutions. Since 2021 new Editorial Board changed the subtitle to broaden the journal's scope and readership. Journal has kept all publishing policies in place, and e-ISSN stayed the same. The new subtitle is Journal for Research in the Field of Information and Related Sciences. Until 2011 Libellarium was published in print ISSN (printed edition) 1846-8527. Since 2011 it has been published only as an online journal (eISSN 1846-9213).

Aim and scope of the journal

The journal covers a wide range of different topics in the field of information and related sciences – ranging from information science theory and methodology, the history of books, printing, publishing, and book trade, preservation, presentation, and protection of written and digital cultural heritage, heritage institutions and their activities, the sociology of books and reading, information literacy and information behaviour, visual communications, knowledge organization, e-learning, bibliometrics, scientometrics and informetrics to digital humanities, contemporary trends in publishing and book trade, technological change and the relationship between humanity and technology, etc. The Editorial Board encourages the publication of interdisciplinary works, especially those that promote scientific research which are in line with modern scientific paradigms.

The journal publishes Original Scientific Papers, Review Scientific Paper, Preliminary Reports, Professional Papers, as well as book reviews.
The Editorial Board accepts papers in Croatian and English. All submitted papers undergo a double-blind peer review process. As regards the formatting of the papers, it is necessary to follow the submission guidelines to facilitate the preparation of the journal and its timely publication.
This journal uses an OJS platform Morepress and provides instant open access to its entire content in line with the belief that the public availability of research findings encourages a greater exchange of knowledge and ideas.

Libellarium does not charge any fees to authors or readers.

The Editorial Board receives papers throughout the year in line with its publication policy.

Libellarium is published twice a year. 

Libellarium is indexed in the CrossRef and DOAJ databases.
