Abstract

»U agoniji« (»In Agony«), a shout story written, by Miroslav Krleža in 1924, is particularly interesting for the fact that later it was used as anucleus, as a kind of a stage predraft in creating two most important plays of Rrleža’s, »U agoniji« (»In Agony«), written in 1928 and, »Gospoda Glembajevi« (»Messers Glembays«), written in 1927, precisely in creating II. act of the former and III. act of the latter play. The purpose of the article Is to show and explane by examples the genesis of the project, from the short story »U agoniji« to the »U agoniji« and »Gospoda Glembajevi«, and then again to the short story »Na samrti« (»At the Death’s Door«), which is a final product of the creative process here analysed.
