Citing and References

When referencing another text in the paper—whether through quotation, paraphrasing, or citation—the source should be cited within the text, not in footnotes. Citations should be placed in parentheses and include the author's last name, the year of publication, and, for direct quotations, the page number, for example: (JELČIĆ, 2002, p. 23). If there are two authors, both should be listed (CRNKOVIĆ & TEŽAK, 1998, p. 25). The bibliography at the end of the paper should provide full details for all cited works, listed alphabetically by the authors' last names.

Examples for citing edited books:

• JAVOR, R. (Ed.). (2000). Kakva je knjiga slikovnica: zbornik. Zagreb: Knjižnice grada Zagreba.

Example for citing a chapter in a book:

• DUKIĆ, D. (2009). Predgovor: O imagologiji. In D. DUKIĆ et al. (Eds.), Kako vidimo strane zemlje: Uvod u imagologiju (pp. 5-22). Zagreb: Srednja Europa.

Example for citing an article in a journal:

• KUVAČ, J. (2005). Bila jednom jedna...o strukturi dječje priče. Magistra Iadertina, 5(5), 25-43.

Example for citing an article in a collection:

• DRANDIĆ, D. (2014). Stavovi učitelja prema tradicijskoj glazbi u školskom kurikulu. In R. BACALJA & K. IVON (Eds.), Dijete i estetski izričaji: zbornik radova (pp. 233-252). Zadar: Sveučilište u Zadru.

Example for citing online sources:

The author proposes the category of scientific and professional papers, and the editorial board makes the final decision based on reviews. The editorial board also decides on the publication of papers, taking into account the opinions of reviewers.
