The author applies the aesthetics of reception (Hans Robert Jauss), which refers to literary texts, to puppet shows. This paper examines performances from Zadar Puppet Theater, which have long been held in repertoire. The plays Little Red Riding Hood (1952) and How Long is a Tale (1996) were selected. Little Red Riding Hood was produced at a time when puppet theater was an imitation of acting theater, and the play How Long is a Tale arouse during the era of postmodern puppetry when the screen disappeared and the puppet could be created from any material.References
