Abstract

Children can benefit a lot from enriched and encouraging environment that can offer them numerous possibilities for experimenting, exploring, revealing and development. In this paper the author presents the features of encouraging environment in preschool institutions. The author also discusses the importance of those institutions in creating favorable conditions for learning, growth and development of preschool children. Contemporary research results related to active position of a child in the learning process emphasize the need for creating an encouraging environment not only from strict pedagogic aspect, but also from the aspect of architecture, the role of the educators, and the culture of the educational institution.
