Abstract

The archival collection center in Novalja started its work on 1st of September 2009 as a part of the State Archives in Zadar. Along with Korčula, it is a second archival collection center in Croatia situated on an island. The need of its estabishment was based on a size of an island and numbers of creators of documentary and archival materials. In this article a proces of its estabishment was described, it provides information about the building in which it is located, storage capacity, the type and structure of the material stored in it, and also work domain and territory of competence.
