An overview of damages of sacral architecture of the catholic church in Gospić-Senj diocese during the homeland war

The sacral architecture of the Catholic Church has been severely exposed to harsh and repeated damages during the Homeland war in Croatia, especially on the occupied areas of The Republic of Croatia. The sacral architecture in Lika region, that is the one on the area of Gospić-Senj Diocese - according to nowadays territorial and administrative structure of the Catholic Church in Croatia - was also severely damaged during the Greater-Serbian Agression, what is evident from the great number of more or less damaged sacral structures. This paper brings an overview of damages of sacral architecture of the Catholic Church in Lika region, as well as the data regarding the time, the methods and the extent of war damages of sacral buildings and monuments.
