Abstract

The article deals with the sacral and secular architecture of Narona territory in the late Roman period. The first attempt is in the direction of delimitation of Narona bishopric which cannot be precisely established. It is very likely that Narona bishopric spread north-east to Salonitan bishopric near Makarska, south- -east to Epidaurum south from Peljesac, while in the north it came at least as close as Mostar. There were some changes of these boundaries during the second Salonitan council in 533. when bishoprics Muccur (Makarska) and Sarsenterum were established. The latter ivas somewhere inland either in Arzano or near Mostar.
