The beginning of the mining trade in the mediavel Bosninnn tale which indices with the lack of precious metals, specially silver in the Western Europe made prerequiste conditions lor the development of trade which brings upon the development ol the cities. All this influenced the economic as well as social changes in the mediavel Bosnian state which was closely connected with the cities in the coast toward which Bosnia and Hum were oriented economicaly and culturaly. Economic and sociological stirrings, changes and Hows had definite reflection on cultural conditions in Bosnia and Hum, socially iin the course of the 14th and 15th century, Bosnian population undergoes great cultural changes under the inlluence of the cities on the coast, specially Dubrovnik. This was very much felt in urban settlements where a certain percentage of the population from the cities oh the coast, live and worked, and brought over the characteristics of the culture on the coast. Owing primarily to its geographic position Bosnia and Hum came into close contact with the tree specific regional features iin culture. First of all it was the influence of the mediterranean region represented by the culture of the cities on the coast, Dubrovnik, Split, Trogir, Zadar, Šibenik and GmiS. More distinguished representatives of the Bosnia-Hum middle class society and more eminent part of their nobility accepted the westren European custom of the time which came via cities on the coast, that is, from northern Croatia find western Europe. The influence of the cities on the coast could be seen in all aspects of cultural life from clothes-fashion to house arrangements.
