Abstract

In this paper the author analyses three Early Cilirislian objects found at the area surrounding Holy Cross church in Nin: iwo lamps (lucernae) and a chip. Both lamps are of the North African origin. A lamp decorated with a running deer in the centre and dogs hunting rabbits on its shoulders (Figs. 1 and 3) can be dated approximately in the period between 420 and 500 AD, while the lamp decoraicd with the central representation of a cross and rosettes on its shoulders (Figs. 2 and 4) is dated in llie first half of the 6th century. The Early Christian cross was not the original decoration of the chip (Fig. 5) but was carved there afterwards.
