Having investigated some aspects of the economic position of Zadar and the surrounding areas in between the two wars, the author provides new data and gives a synthesis of the economic structure and orientation of the surrounding areas of Zadar at the time when its center the town of Zadar, was part of Italy after the Rapail agreement from 1920. In other worlds, the author presents and evaluates the position of Zadar hinterlands and the islands in regard to the so-called »infrastructure«. He shows the state of the main roads, the supply of the electrical energy and water. He also presents the key characteristics of the agriculture, fishing industry, nautical forces and turism and comes to the general conclusion that the economic structure in the investigated area between 1918. and 1941. was quite inadequate. The industrialization was not progressing at that time in this area where only one manufacturing industry could have been classified as industry Zadar was separated from its gravitational center and that presented an enormous obstacle not only for the industrial development of Zadar but also for the socioeconomic growth of its neighbouring areas.References
