Eastern necropolis functions from the first decades of the 1.st.c.A.D. stretching from Porta Caesarea to Zgon, a little more to the east from Porta Andetria. Walled tomb areas of necropolis were built around the longitudinal communication line in Salona, along the now nonexisting branch of the river Salon (Jadro). The necropolis widened during the 2nd century to the east up to the Jadro spring and the burials on that area were intensive in the 3rd century A.D. South-eastern necropolis stretches to the locality "Five bridges” and over Otok (=Island), then goes to the left bank of Jadro river following the road towards Epetium, The inscriptions about the tombs areas adjoining "ad viam munitan" arc related to this Roman road. Burials on this necropolis continue from the 1st to the 3rd and the 4th century A.D. on the left bank (sites Japirko and Bašo). Along the communication line towards todays Vranjic there are two smaller cemeteries in which the members of the ager community were buried. Cemeterial basilica was built for their use later at Jurić’s house.
