Abstract

This work deals with a new way of analysing the findings of the warrior equipment of Carolingian type from the area of North Dalmatia, precisely between the rivers Zrmanja and Krka. In the Iast few decades it has been found quite a number of findings of that kind which have been up to now only summarily worked up and unsufficiently scientifically analyzied. That is why the author tried in this work to give a more complete picture of this valuable archaeological material, which is essential for the better comprehension of the Carolingian cultural influence on the development of material and spiritual culture of Croats in Dalmatian Croatia, Within this archaeological material, dell with in this paper, the most prominent place take the findings from the closed grave units from the most important Old Croatian necropolis of Zdrijac in Nin. Other single or sporadic findings of the kind were worked up as well, among which some of them published with uncorrect data about the circumstances or place of Finding, which was corrected in this work. Author indicates the abundance of such archaeological material of the Carolingian type in North Dalmatian area and concludes with notion of importance of this region in time of the formation and arising of early feudal Croatian hind.
