Urban and geographic transformation of Zadar - elements of traffic system from 1945 to 1911

Out of the complex study of Zadar urban and geographic development, in this paper the author analyses major elements of its traffic system. He gives particular attention to analysis of internal city traffic and to the city traffic significance in the region as well as in the whole of Croatia. He especially examines in detail elements of city traffic system: streets and roads as well as its bus lines. The author points out the significance of Zadar transit and regional traffic function together with characteristic indicators of number of passengers and of quantities of cargo in maritime, railway, bus and air traffic. He particularly stresses the importance and development of Zadar cargo port. Also, he points out the necessity of future efficient development of all traffic functions in accordance with needs of the city, region and Croatia.References
