Abstract

The author analyses in detail the silver relief dolne in the technique of »repousse« by Toma Martinov (Tomas Martini de Jadra), a jeweler from Zadar in 1497. The relief was found on the inner side of St. Simun’s shrine in Zadar. The author discovers the unknown contracts dated May 15, 1514 and August 10, 1524 in which Tomas Martini takes upon himself a task of making a silver statue of St. Simun. Judging by the technique done in gold and by other stylistic characteristics, the author attributes three more objects to Toma Martini: a relief (somewhat reduced) on a small shrine -reliquary and two crosses.
