The paper deals with Duje Rendić-Miočević’s private library. Rendić-Miočević was a distinguished scholar of archaeology, epigraphy and related scholarly fields. Archaeology department of the University in Zadar bought his library and placed it in their premises. It achieved the status of a special collection due to the ways it was analysed, systematised and marked. Analysis of the collection points out titles of particular value with regard to their old age and still present scholarly value. Collection consists of reference collection (dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopaedias, bibliographies), monographs dealing with archaeological and related scholarly fields, periodicals, and numerous offprints. The analysis gives an insight into various works covering scholarly fields of classical philology, history, philosophy, as well as archaeology and epigraphy. In addition, it gives the opportunity to observe development of both the scholar himself and archaeology as the scholarly discipline, through the prism of printed material. The collection has shown its integrity and logic through time and in scholarly line.References
