The author analyses three newly found sources for the investigation of medieval Zadar. These findings are complementary to the results of previous ones in this area.
The first one is a plan of Zadar preserved in two versions in the work »Pilgerreise von Konstanz nach Jerusalem« by Konrad von Grünemberg from 1486. Zadar is very stylized and presented with much imagination but still it is easy to discern some details which serve as a document about the set-up of Zadar. The other one is a very precise plan of Zadar and its surroundings in Kriegsarchive in Vienna which can be dated around 1570. It has precisely indicated roads, paths and and landmarks, the remnants of two aqueducts from Roman times, churches in the suburbs of the town, the remains of the medieval suburbs Varoš and a protecting wall for the workers that dug the exavation for the city fortification kown also from other history sources. The third plan is a plan of Zadar fortifications and it is preserved in two versions in the State Archives in Torino dated around 1580. It consists of some data about the medieval fortifications of Zadar and a plan of pre Romanesque church St. Krševan outside of the city (near the fountain on Kolovare).
