Abstract

In this paper the author analyses several pre-Romanesque stone fragments from Crkvina in Galovac. The author has discovered them among still unpublished stone material. He established that some of them belonged to parts of already published pre-Romanesque ciboriums and the others to an altar that was placed beneath six-sided ciborium. The author points out the archaeological value of these fragments for which he holds that they deserve proper scientific attention. Concluding the paper, the author points out that publication of fragments of pre-Romanesque ciboriums and altar expands the scientific comprehension. Further more this paper replenishes previous publication of ciboriums from Crkvina in Galovac. What is more, this paper argumenlally affirms the existence of an altar beneath the six-sided ciborium, contributing to the further study of pre-Romanesque art on the ground of Dalmatian Croatia.
