Frane Zavoreo, who is one of the descendants of a Šibenik family, was born in Venice in the middle of 18th century and died on October 20, 1822 in Zadar. He worked to Zadar and in the wider area of Dalmatia in the time of Venetian Republic and later under Austrian and French occupation. His work on roads, bridges and melioration was remarkable. He was equally gifted as an architect and from 1804—07 he realized the first classicistic project in Zadar — the restauration of Duke’s palace.
