Abstract

Phrases are an important tool of language so that a student of a foreign language has to acquire a stock of these both in order to broaden and advance his language competence, as well as to improve his ability to translate. Phrases are insufficiently represented in teaching and in textbooks. Since the results of contrastive linguistics contribute to enhance and make more efficient the acquisition of a foreign language, the aim of this article partakes of the same task. Simply put, the task would be to erect a framework for contrastive analysis whose results would help and make more effective the incorporation of phrases into the process of learning German.
