other characteristics. The characteristics are for one — the stability of the standard language, the sufficient distance of the dialect-basis to the stan- dard language, then genetic adherence of the basis to the very diasystem to which the used dialect adheres, furthermore the adherence of the transmitter in the used dialect to the same national and/or ethnic group, which is actu- ally the fundamental transmitter of the literature In its standard language, and finally the wholeness of the text written in a dialect (that is, not just the fragments, or the dialogues alone, or similar...). The Croatian Cakavian and Kajkavian poetry of the 20lh century fullfills all these six conditions. There are two basic motifs that speak for the use of the dialect and they are: the illustrative — tied to domestic themes, and ithe stylistic - motivated by the everlasting search for the new creative expressions. As examples there have been chosen two representative poems, one in the Kajkavian (by Ivan Goran Kovačić), the other in the Cakavian dialect (by Marin Franičević) for the sake of other orientation.References
