Using Matoš’s poetics and his poetry as the theme, the author models one of the possible methodical patterns of how to creatively and critically approach, on a certain literary critical level, the comparative investigation and comparison of Matoš’s poetics and his poetry, with the purpose of showing to what extent Matoš followed and to what extent he transcended, in his work, his own theoretical postitions concerning the sonnet, verse, rythm and rhyme in poetic language.
