Verbal aspect in Serbo-Croatian is a grammatical category which devides verbs into perfective and imperfective groups of verbs. Every Serbo-Croatian verb, apart from being marked for perfective or imperfetive aspect, is also marked for the art of verbal action. For this grammatical feature it has developed precise system of grammatical markings. For the marking of aspect it has prefixes which play an important role in the language. With the combination of prefixes, suffixes and infixes and the root of the verbs we can create new verbs. German language does not have such means in its system. Nevertheless, German has possibility of oreating new words with prefixation as a promi- nent feature. Prefixes can have many functions in German. Within the framework of aspectual system, prefixes can be used in order to indicate partial perfective verbal actions with special reference to the beginning and ending of the action. This feature is, however, almost always combined with additional semantic component.References
