The image of our people and regions in the Vienna journal »der wanderer« during 1814. and 1815.

Abstract

During the first two years of its existence (1814—1815) the Vienna journal +Der Wanderer« carried contributions which dealt with our people and regions. Special attention was paid to those territories that at that time were under Austrian rule. The articles ranged from those that were devoted to the culture and history of our regions to, most frequently, official army bulletins or economic decrees. In the journal, our countryman is represented as a brave, honest and meritorious soldier, and the poeple as happy subjects of the Austrian empire.
