Abstract

Two phonetic and orthographic questions discussed elsewhere in the matter of the writing A i. ot d to p ot in Constantine Porphyrogenetos es a copy of Mid. Lat. Iadera as Jadera are completed there by a third one, i.e. by the argument of accent which speaks in the same sense. Biz. Gr. (t|) lot depot instead of (t]) 'lot depot, as asfalse pro paroxytone bears a non-Greek accent standing under the influence of Lat. Iadera. As to Emperor's writing (Tot) Aiotdupot for (tot *Atot depot), how much orthographically unusual it may be, it has been in its change of gender and number determined prosodically; as such it avoids the accentually and quantitatively non-corresponding paroxytone (f|)'lo
