Two groups of children wore given a task to diraw a fruit-tree: one group of N = 31 pupils attending the 1st grade of the normal primary school of the average age 6 years and 8 months (M = 19, and F = 12), and the other comparative group of N — 85 mentally retarded pupils attending the 3rd and 4th grades of the Special Centre of the average age of 11) years and 1 month (M =36 and F = 29). All drawings were rated by means of a newly invented point-system of 14. i. e. 17 points, and it was found that these two groups do not differ one from another statistically up to a significant degree. (XN - 6, Xmk = 5,6; t = 1,254 p > 0,05>. It shows that older menially retarded children draw a fruit-tree like about 3—4 years old pupils of the normal primary school.Downloads
