Abstract

The central problem tackled by the article is the meaning of the exchange of information and experience in organizing and practically conducting education. The author maintains that communication, as a form of positive social interaction and as an instrument for broadening our knowledge, is one of the most significant factors in the successful transformation of the educational system. Communication influences, in a significant manner, the sreation of a balance between the educational systems of different countries and it is this particular aspects that is dealt with in the paper. By introducing the term "emancipatory communication", the author sought to make a contribution to the explanation of this complex phenomenon. The author underlines the need of implementing these theoretical insights into reforms taking place nowdays in Croatia which would practically enable the integration of the Croatian system of education into developments under way throughtout Europe.
