Upravljanje odgojno obrazovnom ustanovom: kultura škole
Synopsis
The authors conceptualize school culture as a complex construct shaped by the management of both school and teaching processes. A brief historical overview of the legal framework and educational policy guidelines sets the stage for understanding the principal’s leadership role. The school culture emerges from a combination of various elements, including socio-cultural values, organizational structure, interpersonal relationships within the school, the exercise of authority in school management, and the promotion of a collaborative atmosphere and partnership among all stakeholders—students, parents, professional staff, and the principal. Enhancing school culture is an integral part of a principal’s competency profile.
This publication serves as a university-level textbook designed to support the professionalization of school leaders. Additionally, its content is relevant to all individuals involved in the educational process. The textbook is the result of the project "Principal: Profession and Qualification, Not Just a Function," co-financed by the European Social Fund.
