Abstract

The paper analyses Julije Benešić’s literary-critical reflctions about certain Croatian authors and their literary works. These thoughts are found in the texts of his reviews and criticisms collected and published in the book Kritike i članci (Zagreb, 1943). Special attention is paid to Benešić’s reviews of the literary works of M. Ogrizović, M. Lovinac, F. Galović, V. Lunaček, and I. Velikanović. Some of Benešić’s thoughts on literary theory and literary criticism are also examined.
