Abstract

The paper presents a comprehensive review of Čabrajec’s perception of great names of the Croatian culture: literary scholars, critics and poets (Štefanić, Barac, Frangeš, Marjanović, Nazor and Cesarić). There are also two supplements on European literature: an essay on Stendhal and "The sense of nature in the literature of the Middle Ages". Each supplement in the Čabrajec’s interpretation is a topic per se, interesting and original in an optimum language of literary theory  and in the richness of content of the history of literature as well as in its subtle analyses of critical and poetic texts, everything being shaped by the infallible style of Čabrajec where poetry and science harmoniously intertwine.
