Kalimah’s Epitaphs and Their Croatian Translations

Abstract

The paper presents a selection of tombstone epigrams of the Greek Hellenistic poet Kalimah and their Croatian translations by Koraljka Crnković and Branimir Glavičić. The main goal is to show the poet’s imaginative art of variation on the theme and some other stylistic devices and how the translators managed to transfer to another language.
